Written by Lia Ramses

There is a helpful ghost who is said to haunt Richmond Bridge, Tasmania. The ghost is that of a large black dog. Thought most legendary black dogs are inherently evil, this one just wants to help.
Residents of Richmond say it appears from nowhere and escorts unprotected women and children over the bridge at night, ensuring they come to no harm. As soon as its job is done it trots off and quickly disappears a friendly phantom dog, no one knows and which seemingly belongs to no one.
