My grandfather had  what I believe is an NDE or perhaps as no trauma was involved an OBE (though OBE's are not generally associated with a feeling of death), a handwritten note was found amongst his things after he died and my mother photocopied for me as she knew I would be interested, My grandfather was raised catholic but was not particuarly spiritual.This is what he wrote.

I have been dreaming
I dreamt that I was traveling down a long tunnel like pipeline head first but everything seemed to be dark. Not black, but dark grey. At the end of this pipe I could see a faint glimmer of light, then all of a sudden I was out in the light and everything seemed to be wonderful, next thing I knew I was back in the tunnel again. Somehow it dawned on me that I was dead but I could see that faint glimmer of light ahead of me so I didn’t worry anymore because somehow I knew that eventually I would get to that light and everything would be wonderful again. I decided to put this in print @ 2.30am when I woke in case I didn’t remember it in the morning. It was so vivid at the time, that I wanted people to know, especially my loved one’s that after my experience I have no fear of death and I hope they will feel the same.

My grandfather died 9 months later.
