The Yellow Balloon
Something happend to me yesterday that filled me with such joy I wanted to share it with you all.
I think James Van Praagh is brilliant, I've seen him on TV and he's pretty good but his books are very, very good. His writing seems to come straight from the angels. I had just finished his book "Talking to Heaven" Within this book he offers an exercise that can be used to get a "sign" from your loved ones as it were. He says once a day ask or visualise some sort of sign, something that once it happends you know it comes from your loved ones, he urges that you make it difficult so, when it does happen it will be undeniable. He recommends saying it every morning and assures readers that it rarely takes longer than a month.
My best friend Leonie died on June 13 2003, she died in front her 5 girls. I arrived with the ambulance as they were frantically trying to revive her. You all know I absolutely believe in the afterlife, but the human in me wonders if she is ok. She passed quite violently after an asthma attack because she had no medication at home. Her daughters were distraught, I had to have a week off work through the shock of it all. I often prayed that she was not grieving for her girls and that she had moved on ok. I would also talk to her as I did when she was here, bitchin and moaning about things and I used to feel guilty that if she was trying to still settle in spirit or was devoting her time to her girls that my talking to her might be pulling her away from important work....so all this was going around in my head.
After reading James Van Praagh's book I decided to ask Leonie if she was ok in spirit, if she was watching her girls and was able to be with me and it was ok for me to talk to her and ask for her help. I asked her to send me a Yellow Balloon somehow. For five mornings when I did my morning grateful journal and prayers I said "remember Leonie, a yellow balloon, send me a yellow balloon so I know your ok"
Yesterday at work I was on the phones, sitting in my normal spot next to Angie. The girls who smoke, go downstairs during their breaks. For those of you who haven't been to my work, we have the top floor of a building, you take the lift down and you enter a foyer, which is perhaps 20 metres long, that takes you to big glass sliding doors which must be opened with a security swipe which we all wear around our necks, then you go outside to a paved area where there a few trees and benches, this area is where the smokers have their smoko's.
I was sitting next to Angie when Jenny, another lady from work who was sitting 3 seats around from me came up from her smoko break. While Angie and I were on the phones she came up to us and placed a yellow balloon between us and said, "look what was floating around downstairs, it was trying to get in the lift, give it to your kids" and with that she wandered off. Angie looked at the balloon and smiled. I on the other hand went into complete shock. A YELLOW BALLOON!!!!!!!!!! I could hardly breathe, it was so unexpected and so perfect. I started to cry and had to stop taking calls. I said to Angie "can I have that balloon" as Jenny's comment had been directed at both us. Sure Angie said, then she noticed I was watery eyed and asked what was wrong. I told her about my balloon request and then she got bleary eyed. So I bought my balloon home and it is sitting in my bedroom with my special bits
