The boy with the bump who wasn't there...

When I was 11 I went to Brisbane to stay with my Aunty and two cousins.

On this particular day, my Aunty was driving my cousin and myself to the local shopping centre. Sitting at the street lights we witnessed a horrible car accident when an old lady driving a very small car hit another car and shattered the windscreen.

In the car with the old lady were four young men. I remember one in particular wearing glasses and looking rather nerd like.

After the old lady hit the other car she seemed to have lost control of her own car and the car start to slowly move towards my Aunties car and clipped the back of it. My Aunty got a bit of a fright and pulled the car over as a few other people got out to see if the old lady was ok.

As I waited in the car I noticed the four young men walking past my window and I distinctly remember the nerdy one saying “I'm ok I just have a bump on my head”.

For the next five years I never thought much of it until I was 16 years old and my Aunty and Cousins had just moved over to Perth . We were reminiscing about my holiday in Brisbane and I brought up the car accident. I mentioned, for the first time, the four men that were in the car with the old lady. My Aunty looked at me blankly and then slowly said that the old lady was the only person in the car.

My mum and my Aunty then explained to me that they must have been spirits and that it is not uncommon for young children to be able to see them.

That is my only ever ghostly experience and it is one I will never forget.
