Alkimos Updates

A  true story told to Barry Sue about the Alkimos: Barry is the author of my favourite ghost book “Ghost of the Alkimos”
This interesting tale was  relayed to me when I asked Barry whether or not the Alkimos in it’s decayed state is still active, he claims it is still as active as ever and then proceeded to give me some updates including this tale below

A husband and wife were great 4WD enthusiasts, having had 4WD’s all their life and being involved in 4WD clubs. They bought a new 4WD and decided to pack a picnic and head to the Yanchep and the Alkimos for the day and  to get the new car’s 4WD wheels wet in the sand.

Twice while out on the beach near the remains of the Alkimos they got bogged, which was unusual for experienced 4WD’ers like themselves and a lot of work, digging yourself out is not as much fun as it sounds, twice is definitely not fun!

In between digging themselves out the wife saw some of the salvage wreck items lying about on shore, she particularly spied one piece and decided it would look nice in the backyard and asked her husband to place it in the back of the car. After digging themselves out for the 2nd time. To their horror they discovered the car wouldn’t start! The brand new 4wd eventually did start some 10 mins later and they returned home.

Upon arriving home the wife asked her husband to take the piece of iron collected from the beach straight out the back so as not to get sand and dirt in the house, he picked it up and they had both just gotten to the back gate when the brand new 4WD caught on fire! Neighbours came rushing and the fire was put out.

The couple claimed their insurance and were issued with a new 4WD, interestingly the insurance company was never able to establish WHY the car caught on fire.

The piece of Alkimos Iron went back to the beach
